Bears Add Another Quarterback To The Mix In Trent Edwards

The Chicago Bears signed veteran quarterback Trent Edwards to a one-year deal on Sunday.
On Saturday, the Bears officially signed quarterback Jordan Palmer to a one-year deal.
Now the Bears have five quarterbacks on their roster counting the injured Matt Blanchard (broken knuckle on left hand).
Edwards will compete with Palmer for the No. 3 quarterback spot. The Bears could keep a third veteran quarterback considering Jay Cutler’s health issues the last couple of seasons.
Edwards worked out with the Bears back in June alongside former No. 1 pick JaMarcus Russell. The former third-round pick out of Stanford has started 33 of the 38 games that he has appeared in. 28 of his 33 starts came with the Buffalo Bills (2007-2009).
He played for the Jaguars, Raiders and Eagles after being let go by the Bills. His last start came with the Jaguars in 2010.
