The Bears added another special teams standout today. WR/KR Eric Weems signed a three-year deal to play in Chicago.
Weems has appeared in 54 games in four seasons in the NFL, all coming in Atlanta with the Falcons.
He hasn’t made a much of an impact on offense, reeling in only 24 catches for 205 yards and two touchdowns.
He has ran back over 100 kickoffs averaging 25.6 ypr, while averaging 10.6 ypr on 77 punts.
He racked up 12 tackles on special teams a year ago. He was voted a first-team alternate for the 2012 Pro Bowl as a special teams player.
In the 2010-2011 NFC Divisional Championship game against the Green Bay Packers he returned a kickoff for a playoff record 102 yards.
Veteran quarterback Josh McCown, who started the last two games of the season for the Bears re-signed with the team on a one-year deal. He will compete for the No. 3
