The Bears took care of one of their up-and-coming players today in wide receiver Earl Bennett.
Bennett inked a four-year contract extension today at Halas Hall.
Bennett is in his fourth season with the Bears and was set to be a free agent this off-season.
In 46 career games, Bennett reeled in 118 receptions for 1554 yards and six touchdowns.
He appeared in 10 games his rookie season, but spent all of his time on special teams.
This season, he has only appeared in six games due to a upper body injury that he suffered in Week Two.
But he has bounced back and played very well these past couple of weeks.
Bennett has developed a great chemistry with Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and the Bears clearly missed him on the field when he was out with his injury.
The new contract details have yet to be announced, but the new contract keeps Bennett with the Bears through
