The Bears made a couple of moves to their 53 man roster today.
They officially announced 2008 first-round pick, left guard Chris Williams was placed on injured reserve with his wrist injury.
Second-year guard Edwin Williams, who replaced him in the second half played pretty well in his place on Sunday.
He started three games a year ago at right guard and started this training camp at a possible candidate for center.
Head coach Lovie Smith is upset with the injury to Chris Williams, but knows whoever replaces him will have to do well.
Smith won’t announce who is starting this Sunday at left guard against the Chargers, but Edwin Williams should be the likely starter on the left side of the offensive line.
A backup is needed for depth on the offensive line sometime soon.
The Bears would be fortunate if they got rookie tackle Gabe Carimi back from injury.
If that happens, Carimi would go back to right
