The Bears are 4-0 all-time in the Hall of Fame Game, having defeated the Cowboys 30-24 in 1968, the Jets 20-6 in 1977, the Browns 13-0 in 1990 and the Dolphins 27-24 in 2005.
They followed by making the playoffs in three of those four seasons, winning division titles in 1990 and 2005 and qualifying for the postseason as a wildcard in 1977. The only year they didn’t make the playoffs was in 1968 when they finished 7-7.
